Science Fair Schedule:
Kick-Off Assembly:
Mad Science will present our kick-off assembly to the Challenger students on March 2, 2017. The kick-off assembly gets the students excited and thinking about how much fun we can have with Science Experiments. Students will have approximately three weeks from this point to work on their own science projects at home.
To Enter:
Go to our online registration for on our Science Fair website:
http://challengersciencefair.oursciencefair.com
The deadline for entry forms is Monday, March 20th, 2017. LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
**Entry forms help us arrange the layout of the MPR to accommodate all our scientists who enter a project and let us know which students to pull out of class for judging. Entry forms are also used for entering students into the random drawing. **
Dropping of your Project:
Also, in an effort to reduce parking lot congestion on the morning of the PTA Science Fair,we are now encouraging all participants to drop off their projects in the Multipurpose Room(MPR) on Thursday March 23thfrom 5:30-6:30 p.m. We cannot take projects before then because we will be setting up the tables in the MPR until 5:30. Please consider dropping your project during this time frame but if that does not work for your family we will be accepting projects on Friday March 24th from 8:05 am to 8:25a.m.
Please allow enough time to set up your project and make it to your classroom before the bell rings. Please set up your displays and return to your classroom line-up as quickly as possible, to keep the aisles clear for others to set up. This is not a good time to browse the displays.
The Day of the Fair:
Drop off: Participants are asked to bring their projects to the Multi-Purpose Room before school starts, between 8:05 and 8:25 am.
Judging: Judging will begin at 8:45 am. Our volunteer coordinators will retrieve students from their classrooms bring them to the MPR when it is time to judge their projects. Judging times are coordinated with our teachers. Students will rotate through the Multi-Purpose Room to talk to the judges about their projects during the morning. In the afternoon, classes will have the opportunity to walk through and view all the projects.
Science Fair Family Night
The entire Challenger community is invited to attend our Science Fair Family night from 6:30-8:00 pm on the night of March 24th 2017. All of the wonderful projects will be on display at that time. There will also be some hands-on science activities for everyone to participate in.
Bring the whole family for some snacks and a great night of fun with Science!
